The Mardi Himal Trek offers an all-inclusive adventure, perfect for trekkers eager to experience the authentic beauty and culture of Nepal's Himalayan region, while still leaving time to relax and unwind at the end of the journey.
Tucked just east of the famous Annapurna Base Camp trail, the Mardi Himal route remains a hidden gem. Few trekkers venture here, making the experience more peaceful and intimate. The trail leads through enchanting rhododendron forests before opening up to high ridges with breathtaking views of Mardi Himal and the striking Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Peak).
As you ascend beyond 3,300 metres, the landscape shifts dramatically from lush forest to rugged alpine terrain. The highlight of the trek is the climb from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp, offering an unforgettable, close-up perspective of the majestic Annapurna Range.
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, where you are met and transferred to our partner hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the lanes of Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
An included internal flight takes you from Kathmandu to Pokhara, followed by a transfer to our partner hotel. Enjoy free time at Phewa Lake and Lakeside, a trekking briefing with your guides, some last-minute shopping, and a visit to the World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa). Overnight in Pokhara with dinner.
Drive from Pokhara to Kande (around one hour), then begin the trek with a five hour hike from Kande to Deurali, climbing gradually through forest via Australian Camp and Pothana. Lunch and dinner included, with a teahouse stay at Deurali.
Trek from Deurali to Rest Camp, around five hours through dense rhododendron forest, passing Forest Camp along the way. The shaded trail climbs steadily from around 2,100 m to 2,600 m, opening up near Rest Camp with the first glimpses of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) on a clear day. Teahouse stay at Rest Camp.
A rewarding day of ascent from Rest Camp to High Camp, around six hours with roughly 1,100 m of climbing. The trail passes Low Camp before rising above the tree line, crossing alpine meadows and rocky ridges with ever more spectacular views of Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range. Teahouse stay at High Camp (3,580 m).
An early start for the summit day. Climb the steep ridge path from High Camp to the Upper View Point at Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,200–4,500 m), a two to three hour ascent rewarded with sunrise panoramas of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.
Return to High Camp, then descend through rhododendron forest and ridge trails to Low Camp (3,150 m) for the night. Teahouse stay at Low Camp.
The final morning on the trail. Descend from Low Camp through rhododendron and oak forest, past terraced fields and traditional Gurung villages, reaching Sidding (1,700 m) around midday, four to five hours all downhill. Enjoy a hearty Nepali lunch before the drive back to Pokhara (three to four hours).
Arrive in Pokhara by early evening for a hot shower, a proper meal and a comfortable night at our partner hotel.
A short morning flight returns you from Pokhara to Kathmandu, with aerial views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and Langtang on a clear day. The afternoon is yours to explore: the UNESCO heritage sites of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square, the lanes of Thamel, or a rooftop dinner of momos and Newari cuisine. Overnight at our partner hotel in Kathmandu.
